Congratulations to Jean Smith
Congratulations to Jean Smith, second year doctoral student, who recently successfully completed her comprehensive exams in the fields of Caribbean History and Western Social History in the Department of History, York University. Jean’s research interest is in Caribbean Cultural History, with a particular focus on the role and impact of food culture in colonial Jamaica. Prior to entering the doctoral programme at York, Jean has achieved a great deal academically, including an Hon. B.Sc., Management Studies (University of the West Indies, Mona), Hon. M.A., Employment and Labour Studies (Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands), B.A. History with Distinction (York University), M.A. Human Resources Management & Industrial Relations/Ethnicity & Pluralism Studies (University of Toronto) and M.A. History (McGill University). She will now begin to pursue her research agenda. Congratulations Jean!!
