The Tubman Institute is an Organized Research Unit at York University and is governed by the regulations of the Senate of York University. The Tubman Institute incorporates earlier projects, including the York/UNESCO “Nigerian Hinterland Project” and the Harriet Tubman Resource Centre on the African Diaspora. The annual reports contain detailed information about all our activities for the year: from our Tubman Speaker Series, to the annual Performing Diaspora, to the research projects and conferences, to all our publications and much more. The reports also include updates on the people that make up our Institute: the Faculty, the Executive Committee, the staff, our members, including our graduate students and collaborating scholars.
